Top 10 Reasons I love Winter at the Vineyard

1. The fireplace is always on.
The smell of firewood burning just increases my love of winter. It makes me feel so cozy!
2. Winter Soups
Each Saturday we make a different winter soup. It is an awesome pairing with our wines and it warms your soul. Add to it someone special or good friend and it perks up a long winter afternoon.
3. Quiet walks thru the vineyard.
There is literally no noise. It is such an awesome feeling of being alone in a peaceful, serene place.
4. Nature revels itself...
Squirrels come down for a quick peak, birds brave it out on the snow-covered branches and if your lucky you may even get to see a few deer!
5. Being alone but not really...
During the rest of the year the vineyard is busy. Winter allows us the time to share our knowledge and love of wine one on one.
6. Winter Romance
The vineyard itself is a romantic place to be any time of year, but winters cold temperatures encourage you to cuddle up with your sweetheart!
7. The “Wine Thief “
Normally wines are nestled away for most of the winter. Bree will check on the wines often using a "Wine Thief" to steal a bit of wine from the barrels. I love being able to taste the wines before they are bottled.
8. Pruning the Vineyard
It's hard work and it is cold but being in the vineyard working in the fresh air gives you a reprieve from the lazy days of winter.
9. Mulled Wine
I love all types of wine but in the winter I actually crave this warm, spicy wine.
10. Snow Covered Vines
It almost makes you forget that in a few months they will be green & full of fruit!
