One of the things I love most about Holiday's is the Holiday parties. I especially love the parties that are hosted in an "Open House" style. Dropping in when you can, for as long as you can, fits my personality just perfectly.
Our open house was this past weekend. It fell on the coldest weekend so far this season and I am so glad it did! It made the fireplace even warmer and the tasting room even cozier.
We kept the "Open House" sweet & simple. Sweet treats for everyone that paired with one of our wines (My favorite combo was the rich chocolate brownie with our Chambourcin) and Live music performed by our friend Ken Wenzel. I'm not sure if it was the wine or the sweets but Holiday Cheer broke out into a full-fledged sing along! It was so cool to see everyone, friends and strangers come together with a glass of wine and a really good tune. It made me realize that this is part of the reason why I am in the wine industry. I love that wine becomes a connection to food, music and most importantly friends. New and Old.
So this party is over but ... I know another is right around the corner!

Welcome to our blog
Welcome to Loudoun Valley Vineyards new blog! Please subscribe to our blog for a first hand look at what goes on in the Vineyard regularly. We hope you enjoy reading LVV's blog and please feel free to respond. All we ask is that you are polite & respectful to other readers.
My hope is to give each of you an inside view of how things really go down. OK, this is not an expose by any means but there is so much that goes on at the Vineyard. We just can't help but share.
We will have two contributors to this blog.
The first is our Winemaker Bree Ann Moore. Not only is Bree our Winemaker, she also manages the daily operations of the winery. With baby Cameron on her hip, Bree laps the Winery at least a hundred times a day taking care of business and of course making wine. Bree will bring to this blog a first hand view of the wine making process.
The second contributor will be me... Kristen. I am for lack of a better description the Vineyards "Creative Director". I mostly am in charge of fun promotions, general events and our newsletter oh.. and I make all our Winter Soups. As a friend to Bree & Cameron I pretty much dive straight in to get what needs to be done... done. What I hope to bring to you in my blogs is a first hand look at the fun, friendships, and event happenings that make Loudoun Valley Vineyards one of my favorite places to be!
